Olive Drab

Converse delivers for fall 2013:

What’s not to like about these?  Even that signature line on the toe in black looks legit.  I always liked that detail on the Purcells.  This contrast stitching on the upper too tho… DAMN.

They are not on the Converse website yet, because they don’t come out until July 1st apparently.  I’m definitely going to keep my eye out.

P.S. Am I the only one that finds it depressing we’re already talking about fall?  It hasn’t even been real hot out yet.  Can I live?

A couple classic silhouettes:

Check out all the options over at the Civilianaire website.

American made, 100% cotton, machine washable and priced at around $200.  If I wasn’t into vintage surplus I’d probably consider picking one of these up if the fit is slim.  It looks kind of boxy in the pictures, but who knows how they look when worn.

WTAPS Gets Their Olive Drab On

Military inspired Japanese brand WTAPS for fall/winter 2012:

Pics via Honeyee.

Price at 25,200 ($320 USD) for the shirt, Pants 26,250 ($334 USD), and Hat ($94 USD).

The thing I like about WTAPS is the pieces are always quite subtle.  They don’t normally use camouflage, and the branding is kept to a minimum.

You can check out the WTAPS website for more pictures and info.  Warning, In true character of expensive clothing seem, the website isn’t particular useful.

Fall/Winter 2012 we see a number of inspired pieces from GAP:

A couple of Olive Drab pieces in GAP’s lineup, peppered with camouflage pants, a military cape (poncho) etc…  The whole line-up can be viewed over at GAP.

On the men’s side of things there surprisingly isn’t that much military inspiration in the new arrivals section besides one fatigue jacket, and a loosely inspired parka.

But girls in anything military related, with the cut altered to look more flattering?  What’s not to like? 🙂
